I've never really read much about them before until today.
Leaving aside the obvious evil and disgustingness of their crimes, it seems a strange turn of events. Just seems like one day they decided to kill a load of kids. Anyone on here who was around then remember any speculation at the time? Was the disappearance if the victims linked before they were both arrested?
According to Wikipedia it seems that Hindley was actually bailed and at liberty for a few days after being charged. Un fucking thinkable that happening now.
Also had no idea that they maintained their innocence for so long. Was this ever believed by anyone or was the general opinion that they were both guilty?
In short; what a horrible pair of bastards. Glad they weren't hanged, as an early death is clearly what they wanted. Hope they both suffered.

Brady and Hindley committed their murdering spree between 1963 and 1965. They were found guilty in 1966 less than one year after the abolition of Capital punishment.
Otherwise they would have been hanged. Sad, but keeping them alive gave the parents of the missing children's bodies some hope to finding their grave.
50 years of pain really.

Yea, even though the cunt has finally gone you don't get the feeling that there is any closure for anyone. The pain this cunt put a lot of people through is unbelievable.
I think there was only 1 body never found Keith Bennett, and agreed after 50 long years he won't remember where exactly the body was buried, plus the landscape would have changed after all that time.
